About Amy
I was born outside of Chicago and have lived in six states, but after spending the most time in Iowa, I proudly consider myself an Iowan. I graduated from high school in St. Louis, earned my undergraduate degree from Drake University, and completed medical school at the University of Iowa.
I served in the United States Navy for 8.5 years, where I completed my internship and residency training in OB/GYN, followed by an additional 4.5 years of service. During this time, I was stationed at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia.
I returned to Iowa 15 years ago and have been practicing full-spectrum OB/GYN ever since. My professional interests include adolescent gynecology, peri- and menopausal care, robotic surgery, LGBTQ care, and offering personalized treatment options that support and improve my patients’ lives.
Outside of work, I am happily married to a 50/50 farmer and am the mother of four. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, and running.
